12.7.06

12 mile run on the mill with interruptions -- the phone, dryer, bathroom break, etc., etc., etc. Made all the usual prep just as if it were to be a long run outside except somehow I forgot to wear my Injinji toe socks and just wore my usual Thorlos. I got a nasty blister on one of my toes -- I hate that! Had a little gastric discomfort after about an hour (after downing a Clif Shot) but that passed without any consequence.

Please note: At 99 minutes and 59 seconds the treadmill cuts off automatically. This could be quite dangerous, especially if one is in a full run. I find it an appropriate time for a break.

I was really sore all over last night. Not sure that all of it was from the run. It was unusual. I moved a room of furniture around before the run -- maybe that had some part in it. I'm sure. You know how it goes moving furniture... Move it here, move it there, move it back.... My leg muscles were twitching at bedtime and I knew I would have trouble sleeping if I didn't take something so I took 2 Tylenol PM and still didn't sleep very well. That's the second time I've had trouble with the leg muscles twitching and real, real tight. Don't know if I need to stretch more or what. Probably a massage or whirlpool would help but that's not likely to happen.

Will take Friday off, short, fun (and CHILLY) 5K race on Saturday, rest on Sunday, and then back at it on Monday. Haven't really looked at next week's schedule so I'm not sure what's coming up but I think it's a slow week.

The next long run will be a week from Saturday -- 3 laps around the Rock for 15 miles.
